8" rear end on 66'
« on: February 12, 2013, 04:44:59 PM »
Hi, Silly question.  But does anyone know the concours correct color for the bolts on the rear end pumpkin?  Were they phosphate and oil, black like the entire rear end, or natural?  Thanks.

Bob

The center section is red oxide, the axle housing is semi-gloss black, and the pinion yoke and the nuts holding the center section on are natural.

Glad I could help.  If you want the Mustang Club of America judging rules for your car you can get them at

http://www.mustang.org/content.php/185-Mustang-Judging-Rules

There's all kinds of good information in them.

Thanks again. I looked there but didn't see anything about the nuts or bolts on the rear end. But maybe I missed it.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff in there and not always all that well organized so you have to read pretty closely.  It's on page 14, items K and L  :)
