I just bought my 1st project... 68 Coupe.

Did this year have a radiator coolant overflow tank?  

The radiator has a hose outlet, but no hose or tank was with the car.  I've looked everywhere to find a tank, but the only thing I've found is a resto-mod chrome overflow cylinder for $90.

No one ever replied but the answer is NO.  This year did NOT have an overflow... it just dumped it on the ground if it overheated or if you filled it too full. 

I did add a tank to mine as I just didn't like the idea of accidentally putting contaminants on the ground.

Good job.  You have to be a little patient here for awhile before you get an answer.  We are currently building the site, and with guys like you, it will get built very quickly.  Yeah, my 65 didn't have an overflow tank either, but that didn't stop me from going to Autozone and getting an aftermarket one for less than 20 bux.  Along with my 4 row rad, 6 blade fan, shroud, 180 thermo, overflow tank and wetter water, my old dinosaur runs cool as a cucumber.

A friend of ours has a 66 coupe and the 67 we have has an overflow bag on it from Ford,

66 Restomod-
That's a sharp looking overflow... mines a generic after-market plastic bottle type that cost $5 but I'd make the $25 for that.

How/Where did you install it?  Do you have a pic? I had to move my wiper fluid bottle to fit my plastic one.

On the 66 we had room on the side of the radiator. Drilled 2 small holes and mounted it on the body.

The chrome/aluminum bottle that is mounted to the side of the radiator is for show and not for practical reasons because you can't see how much anti-freeze/water solution you have in there.  If show is what you are going for, then fine, but we guys who drive our mustangs every day want to actually see how much overflow we have with a cold engine.  You showed me yours, now I'll show you mine.

 Our 66 did not come with a radiator reservoir, it just dumped out on the ground. The local drag strip, Sears Point (I will NEVER call it Infineon!) requires all radiators to capture any spills. Most of the "old school guys" run the tube into a beer can and tie wrap it to pass tech inspection. I thought this was cleaner looking.
  You are right, yours will refill the radiator when it cools and keep it topped off. We have to check our radiator to keep it topped off.
  And ours will also be a daily driver when it is done...

Good..... As a daily driver it does not have to be pretty, just functional.  Chrome is pretty....not functional.

Looks like mine, except I made an adapter bracket that went under the second fender bolt from the front.

 Well we are doing a restomod that is completely being gone through.
 I feel no guilt for being functional and turning heads as daily driver

Bossnutt - do you have a picture of the 67 coolant recapture bag?  My 67 doesn't have a coolant resevoir.  It does have a windshield washer fluid bag (FoMoCo), however.  I'm wondering if yours was standard, option, or aftermarket?
