Topic: 5 speed with console

does anyone have a 5 speed in a 65 or66 mustang with the factory style console. I would like to know if it will work ok. thanks.

If (the big "if") you get the shifter mechanism that locates the five speed stick in the stock location and with a manual transmission console plate, it will work. I'm not sure but you may have to relocate the console an inch or two.

Understand that it ain't factory, but you can make it work with a little massaging.

thanks for the replys. I'm just looking at options. I like the clean look of the original style console but the aftermarket type with cup holder in nice too.

I have both types in my 66 hardtop, a factory full length cosole and a removable Hump Hugger type.  i like them both. The only problem with the Hump Hugger type is that the inner seat belts need a plastic sheath to keep them from getting lost "down there".
