Hi
My name’s Martin. I live in Poland and I’m repairing the engine ( v8 289ci) to 1967 Mustang coupe. After having measured all block components I have a few questions to which I can’t find the answer in the internet.
First one is : What are the pistons oversizes? I’m asking about that because my bigest cylinder bore is  4,0143 in .
2) Do some oversized valve steams exist ? And the same concerns valve lifters.
3) Is it possible to replace carb 2v with the carb 4v? Is it connected only with the changement of  intake manifold or also something else? For example piston? (What do 2-BBL FLAT , 4-BBL DISH mean?).
4) What do you think about changing the Timing Chain to 2 toothed wheel?
Where do you think I could buy all those things?
Thank you for help and I’m looking forward to your answer.

welcome to the site its nice to have someone from europe. we have a member from Ireland.
yes you can put a 4 barel carb on it. im sure Edelbrock has the best set up for the buck. some times to only thing you have to do is change the base plat on the  intake manifold

as for the timing gear . sure go for it. dont have to worry about stretching the chain.lol Im thinking about getting one for my 351 cleveland 2v

as for oversize valve stems dont ty it. good way to bend them.
sounds like you wanna make a stroker motor.

as for pistons flat and dished it how the top looks flat top means it flat of corace and dished meand it has been made for curtian valve clearnces and for high compression.

If I am wrong about anything anybody jump in and correct me.lol
