Topic: 2100/2150 carb for 302

Hello, I recently purchased a 66 coupe but it has a 73 302 in it. Discovered the Carb is trashed so I am looking for a new one, even thou the current carb is a 2100 or 2150 2 barrel from 1973(d3) and the 302 intake is a 73 302, Can I still use a classic 2100 autolite or motorcraft? I do have the stovepipe coming up from the exhaust manifold. I have gone through three different shops and no one can order one, I cannot believe they want $200 plus for a little 2100d Autolite carb, So whats the Difference between the 2100/2150 Thanks

There isn't really any reason to stay with the 2100/2150.  Summit racing (and other places) sell Holley and house-brand carburetors that should be perfectly suitable.  Or, you can take this opportunity to upgrade the intake manifold to a "performance-type" aluminum 4-barrel unit (Holley and Edelbrock both sell good units) and upgrade your carb to a 4-barrel.  It will normally only operate on 2 barrels so there should be little change in your fuel economy, but will provide better performance when the throttle is opened further.
