1988 Mustang 7.0 & 15 degrees cooler!
« on: October 30, 2008, 05:57:08 AM »
Hi all:

Had the chance to do a test on a ascMclarene with a product
called Hyperkuhl. It is a antifreeze compliment or replacement, depending in what weather zone you reside in.

We are in Puerto Rico where antifreeze not checked on a regular
basis can be time bomb.

In any event, with a legendary racing guy, we confirmed a drop in
engine temp. of 15 degrees! He was pleased and the fact that
the product protects and provides lubrication, win win.

Anyone else have experiance with a product like this?

No, but there is another brand of the same thing called "Water Wetter."  I run it in my 65 coupe and in my 03 Mach1, and in my F-150 truck.  It definitely works.  It's a Redline product, and here is what they have to say about it.

WaterWetter® is a unique wetting agent for cooling systems which reduces coolant temperatures by as much as 30ºF. This liquid product can be used to provide rust and corrosion protection in plain water for racing engines, which provides much better heat transfer properties than glycol-based antifreeze. Or it can be added to new or used antifreeze to improve the heat transfer of ethylene and propylene glycol systems. Designed for modern aluminum, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze systems. Compatible with all antifreezes, including the latest long-life variations. 12 oz.

So you would recommend this is a stock or mildly built 5.0?  Is it available at the local part store or is there somewhere specific you have to purchase it from?

Bossnutt, are you asking me about the water wetter, or the poster about the Hyperkuhl?  Waterwetter is available at most auto supply stores in the United States.  Not sure about in Austrailia.

The water wetter actually.  The summers here are pretty rough on the stangs.  It's more humid here.  I usually run a 160 t-stat and just would like some extra protection against over heating.

The water wetter can be bought at just about any auto supply place.  I got mine at  Autozone best I remember. If not, then google "Redline" and find a dealer in your area On edit:  Here, I'll save you some time.  http://www.redlineoil.com/

Cool thanks.  I worked right next door to a parts store that carries it.
