Topic: 1971-1973 mustang fastback w/ 1969-1970 mustang fasbtack?

I wanted to know if the 1969-1979 Mustang fastbacks had the same chassis as the 1971-1973 mustang fastback?

Which leads me to my other question. If they are or are not the same chassis can the parts still be swapped between each other?

For ex. If there is a rack and pinion setup for a 1969-1970 mustang can that be used on the 1971-1973?

Both seem to have the big body chassis setup but different shape bodies on top.

Much of the mechanicals between the 68-70 and the 71-73 were common parts  71-73's most significant difference (upgrade if you will)  was to move the power steering system away from a slave system that provided assist, but to an integral power system which was more reliable and less prone to leaks.

the subframes are still the same and since both came with a worm gear steering box, any rack and pinion unit that is already being adapted to one, probably will have a good chance of fitting, but is also likely to be available to suit your exact application.
