Much of the mechanicals between the 68-70 and the 71-73 were common parts 71-73's most significant difference (upgrade if you will) was to move the power steering system away from a slave system that provided assist, but to an integral power system which was more reliable and less prone to leaks.
the subframes are still the same and since both came with a worm gear steering box, any rack and pinion unit that is already being adapted to one, probably will have a good chance of fitting, but is also likely to be available to suit your exact application.
