1970 T-5 upgrade questions
« on: July 31, 2010, 01:34:43 PM »
Am working to restore?  a 1970 T-5, 200 I-6, 3-Speed.  Car currently has 4 bolt hubs.  I have 2 parts cars to pull from - a 1968 galaxie 500: 390 2bbl, automatic and 1970 LTD: 390 2bbl, auto.  The galaxie has four wheel drums the LTD front disc.  Can the brake components and rear ends of either of the parts cars be used to convert the T-5 to 5 bolt and possibly front disc w/5bolt and how about the front suspension.  This care will be my 16-year olds daily driver when complete.

They are all compatible.  Just start pulling parts and replacing them.

Will I have to modify the width of the differential housing?

No, because they all used the same differential housing from those years,  just different differentials.
