1968, Alternator Indicator

(1/1)

Guest:
Hi
On the indicator, there is a letter "D" and a "C".
What do they mean?

Thierry:
A "D" and a "C" or a "DC" ?
DC would mean direct current like any car.

Guest:
Hi,

I think the 'c' stands for charging and the 'd' stands for discharging.  :-D

Soaring:
The alternators do not create AC current.  They only create DC current and keeps the DC battery fully charged.  The normal DC current coming from the alternator is 40 amps, unless you pay a bunch more for a 70 and up amp alternator.
