Topic: 1966 Reverberator

I have been doing a lot of looking, but have found little information on the reverberators that came with some Mustangs. I have a reverberator that is in very poor condition mounted in the trunk of my 66. I would like to rebuild it somehow, but have found almost nothing on the internet about the units. Only that they were there.

Does anyone have any information (tech specs, pics, resto steps, etc) on these units, or at least where to look? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to our forum 289Stang.
After seeing a reply from a post you made in another forum I discovered that your reverberator was produced by a company named Rotunda. That company disappeared in 1968 after Ford bought it. After that date Rotunda products were licenced under the FOMOCO name. The reverberator was supposed to give you an echo effect for your AM radio.
 Thats all I could find about it and I know this answer won't be very usefull for you but maybe it will help someone to give you more information.

Thank you for the reply.  That information does help.  That tells me that the unit I'm looking for is under the Rotunda name and not FoMoCo.

Unfortunately, all of the cardboard surrounding the reverb has long since decayed leaving only the inside of the unit visible.  I'll look to see if there are any identifying markings on the inside.

This information comes from what someone replied in your other post and doesn't mean other companies didn't make reverberators especially if its an aftermarket part. Let us know if you find any marking.

Honestly, I don't know.  Since there is no cardboard left on the orig unit, it's impossible to tell from the picture that they had.  I'll probably have to look for some kind of a part number on the internals.
StudioSonic is also something that I have stumbled across while doing my searches, but never found a pic, so you one upped me there.  The picture of the StudioSonic reverb unit does appear to be of the same dimensions, so that is a positive sign.
It's also kind of funny because the eBay link that you provided, I actually placed in my "Watched Items" a few days ago.  But without knowing which reverb unit was installed, I have been hesitating on buying the replacement cardboard.
I'll try to provide some pics of the reverb unit in the truck and hopefully, a part number as well.

The information you are searching for on a 1966 studiosonic reverb unit can be found on page 76 in issue AR-30 of Sams Photofact, Auto Radios series. just go google sams photofacts and then type in your modle number (RV4D, RV4D-NS) and you should be able to locate a copy on E-bay . This issue has a a full wiring diagram of the reverb unit and it's wiring harness.
