As far as I know, the 65 seats were all vinyl....even the pony interior.
I have about a zillion Mustang catalogs from various vendors, and I don't see any of them selling vinyl and cloth seats. If you have one with vinyl and cloth, it was most likely special made.

Nice A code Mustang there.....I'll be damned. It does have a cloth insert in yours. I don't know where a replacement cover can be purchased from though. Try calling NPD and other larger companies.

I will be moving your topic down to the classic Mustang technical section tomorrow. Look for it down there. Maybe those guys can also offer you some support and information.

TMI Products Inc. may have covers like that. It's not in their online catalog but if it was offered by Ford it should be available somewhere. You can find one of their dealer near you in their site.

I went through the 9 or 10 Mustang vendor's catalogs that I have today, and there are no cloth seats in there for a 65. Starting about mid 80's are the only ones I can find. Thierry has a good idea about checking with TMI. Here is a link for dealers. Good luck finding that rare seat cover.

Here is some more info from some of my classic buddies.
Glen,
I found two references to code 76 interior trim and it appears to be a 64 1/2 hold over into the 65 model year until the end of January. There is also a code 79, Palomino Vinyl and cloth interior. Both code 76 and 79 were offered on hardtop and 2 + 2 models (65 for 2 + 2) from day one. I would assume that a 'good' upholstery shop could reproduce them - for a price.

I scoured the internet for about an hour trying to find a picture of what this looks like. I found body tag decoders that referenced it, and some that didnt. I imagine that it is due to the hold over that jwc mentioned above. If you can scrounge up some pics lets see them, my interest is piqued!

Sure enough...That's cloth. Maybe you could just take it to an upholstery shop and have a new cloth section made for it. Or, contact TMI and get them to make one up for you.

i read an article a while back a couple had found enough material do restore their seats and it was not reproduced i believe it was a 2004 issue, in the back called cloth interior mystery solved. it went on talking about how they had complaints from customers sticking to the seat during the summer etc and some wanted a cloth option. imagine how rare a bench seat with cloth would be.

Whenever I make a long trip in the summer, I have to sit on a towel. I can't stand literally sweating my butt off.

Your answer leaves me , well - dissapointed. You need to CONTACT them direct, not just look at their web site, for your seat covers.

Cloth seats were a rare option but there is certainly a market for this product. If you contact them you may get what you want
A local upholstery shop can do a great job but they won't duplicate the original material.

TMI does make custom seat covers, but will cost you a lot.
But, if you are going to restore it to concours correct, then that is the way you will need to go. If not, if you show a decent upholstery shop that picture, or better still take the seat to them, they will be able to come close enough as in hand grenades and atomic bombs.
