I am restoring a 1965 Mustang fastback. I purchased 2 new front fenders that were Ford tooling. The passenger side flange where it bolts to the inner fender is flat. The driver side has 3 triangular protrusions. Does any know if originals were as such? Please see photo attached.

None of my three 65-66 Mustangs with original fenders have those triangles - however, those are put in to relieve stress in the stamping operation. All I can say is you have the 'improved' version.

Thanks Jim appreciate the reply. I have checked out some ebay cars that say original some have them. Could be newer fenders though with replacement fenders.
