VIN Location
« on: January 19, 2009, 06:57:30 PM »
For my 17th birthday I received a 1970 Raven Black Mustang (WOW!!). The VIN plate on the left of the windshield is missing and I was wondering, is the VIN number on the car anywhere else?

It was my uncle's car but my father got it for me. It needs some work but it's still in pretty good condition. My dad's a mechanic so of course he's going to help me but I don't have the patience to wait, I'm to excited (lol).

Yeah, the driver's side inner fender.  Raise the hood and search the top of the inner fender where it meets the outer fender.  Here is mine on my '65.

whoever told you that is an idiot. on all vehicles even todays theres one on the inner fender for american made, its on the drivers side. also theres a plate riveted on the drivers side door below the latch. if you see the plate but cant read the numbers, take some paint stripper and put it on a rag n rub. or if your cheap you can use rubbing alcohol. itll take longer but its cheaper

its ok. id repaint the tension bar before rust gets to it.  and on your door jam, theres a plate below the latch there should be a series of numbers two sets. take the paint remover to the plate.

what about the drivers side inner fender apron? it should be on the top of the inner fender.

Look under the driver side dash where the window meets the dash.  There should  be a tag there.
