Undercoating the insde???

Okay I ripped the carpet out and have a few spots to fixed, I was wondering if I put undercoating on it after I was done was a bad thing.

I have been told not to use undercoating, I already have por 15 coming for some of my smaller bad spots, but figured the rest could get a good sanding and some undercoat. What ideas do you have? What would you do?

It is on my 73 mach one, not that it matters but I want the car to last.
