paint suggestions needed
« on: April 29, 2009, 07:17:37 AM »
Im almost ready for a paint job, and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about any really nice paint colors/designs. My pockets aren't that deep so im looking for something maybe $600 - $1000.

I was thinking myself to get a dark blue on the bottom, not to dark though and re-painting the hood, roof, trunk, and above the doors white again. The spoiler and everything else would be a the dark blue.

It sounds like you are asking for opinions, so here is mine.  Take a look at the interior color and see if the blue will go with it.  And, personally I do not like Mustangs to be two-toned.  If you are going to paint it blue, then paint the entire car blue.  But, you could add some accents like a black spoiler and mirrors.  That's my 2 cents.   ;D

personally I would like to stay away from black. My first car was a 94 V6 mustang and was black in color. I had the hardest time keeping that car clean. I like the idea of the two colors because of the body kit on it, i also thought about painting the whole car a deep orange color.

Yeah, I guess you have a point about the body kit.   If you could somehow paint it on the computer then look at it before you actually painted it, that would keep you from making a mistake.  Surely there is some software out there just for this purpose.

If that's your car in the pic, i'd suggest a white pearl. Imho it would look great.

;D I have looked at a pearl white already  ::)
The one that I picked out was about $1.5 Grand. And I'm going to try and get them to do body work to it too (the stuff I cant do myself) If thats the case I would be looking at about $1.9 Grand or more i would think... And I just spent like $400 so I only have $900 left (at least till I get paid again and being a hostess at a steak house doesn't pay that great) So if I did get pear i would be waiting for a while.

I agree, this color is awesome but I doubt it will be in Stang98's budget. Unless you plan to drive to Virginia to do your 100$ paintjob.  ;D

Here is my 15mn paint job for you Stang98. I messed up with the masking tape so it will be free of charge.  :D

I am not crazy about two tone paints on this generation of Mustangs but it might help you decide if it's what you want to do.

white with blue racing stripes. It's not totally original but I've seen it look good a few times. I almost bought my car as white with black racing stripes. You've eliminated a whole bunch of colors that are good. That's probably why they are common, but racing striped could be a good looking way to have two-tone.
