[Clueless1]

Hey all! My family has a 66 mustang coupe sitting on blocks in the garage, where it's been for just about a decade. Its engine was practically new before we sat it out, it just needs a lot of body and interior work.  I want to learn how to work on it and do some of the repairs this summer, or at least start to.  Could anyone suggest where I could start looking for help? I honestly have no clue what I'm doing, and pretty much fit my username when it comes to general knowledge about cars. I'm very anxious to learn though! I have some friends in the garage business, but I want to do this on my own as much as possible. So any websites or books or anything you guys could suggest would be really great! Thank you!

Go to the library and see if they have any books.  Your local auto paint store may have some books or tapes on it.

i would say some of the mags like hot rod, car craft, or popular hotrodding.... but sometimes they are a little more technical than a beginer level-- i think that car craft is the most "do it yourself" friendlly--

I'm in the same boat man - I bought a 69 fastback from my uncle about two years ago, but been away forever. But now i'm back and ready to rumble - but i dont know crap about cars haha. It'll be interesting to see how we both do huh. Well good luck man, gonna be a blast - Nate

Another way is to take some automotive classes from your local community or vocational college.  Classes provide you with an instrcutor that knows his stuff and best of all you get to use the tools from the shop class, saving you some time and money from not having to buy all the tools yourself and having the right tools when you need them. :-)
