Topic: what vehicles in 1984 had the 351w std

i have a 351w im installing into my 91 mustang, hard to get parts for it concidering i dont know what vehicle it came out of. are the flywheels compatible from a 5.0l to a 5.8l from the years of 1981 to 97'?

the flywheel isnt compatible with any 302 made in 1982 and up... the 81 and earlier and all 351s use a 28oz balance...

f150,e150,bronco crown vic,town cars etc coukd be had with 351w motors iirc the 351w out of the crown vic uses the correct oil pan for a mustang swap(dual sump)

i had a flywheel from a 1985 302ho on the 351w, with a 302 clutch kit, seem to work fine, but put i back on the 302 for the installation in a chevy s10 (ford drivetrain in a chevy)  . i have only recently relized there is a difference in flywheels (50oz., 28oz) i find that there is a difference from 1979-85, 1986-95, so woundering which works on it, and if i had the right one on it, seemed alright, worked well.

any 302 built in 1982 or newer must have the 50oz

any 1968-1981 302 and all 351W/C's use 28oz

the clutch kit doesnt matter, if you have the wrong flywheel you will kill your bearings and crankshaft
