The best place to start is putting in some gears in the rear. You probably have an 8" pumpkin with 2.78 gears. Throw some 3.55's in there and you will immediately feel a huge difference in launch. With 4.10's you will get lousy gas mileage and won't have a highway car any more, but they will certainly move you out. Much of the add-on's to the engine will not help much by themselves. So you have to plan carefully. One of the immediate changes you can make will be to go to an aluminum set of heads, intake manifold, carburetor, headers, mufflers and larger rear tires. These are all expensive items, so I would start with the gears first, then still not satisfied, dig up the money and add all the above.
