What are the best modifications for power on a budget??
« on: July 05, 2009, 06:11:48 PM »
Hey guys, I just got my 90' all ready to go and I was hoping for some input on what are the best upgrades while on a budget? Im 17 and finally have the car I've been wanting for years. Money isn't something i have a lot but the bit extra I do have I'd love to put into my fox.

Tell what in your opinion is the best stuff.
Thanks, Charles

I'm the original owner and my 90 FB has remained very stock with the exception of:
removed mufflers- Cats only
BBK air intake-fenderwell
Hurst short throw shifter and adjustable cable
King Cobra clutch- Great value/performance
I'm doing a complete interior update now.
I should have put the shifter in long ago, and with the clutch update it will occasionally bang 4th. Got 24# injectors and a 73 Mass air ready to in next. Then adding some subframe connectors and springs.
Hope this is helpful.

i would probably say suspension. if you want power then heads cam and intake. of course there are the usuals. cold air, exhaust, headers, etc. the one thing i will say is dont waste your time with a chip. a lot of guys think that first but dont bother.

The first thing I would add would be gears in the rear.  That is, unless you already have at least 355's back there.
