transmission lines
« on: May 11, 2010, 09:22:32 PM »
well i am new to this,i have 87 mustang gt trying to bring back to life, well i can not get the transmission line to quit leaking fluid, rechecked the line were they screw into the transmission, they were tight, they are not flared, what make the line seal to the transmission if they are tight.i see that the male part has black plastic on the part that screws into the transmission, but look as if there is to much space for the line to draw up inside.is something missing?

Somebody may have changed out the lines and forgot to flare them, and to use the brass washer that is rounded and is able to seal.  I would take off the line and re-do the entire thing, and do it right this time.
