T5 Transmission Swap Question?
« on: February 05, 2010, 11:38:05 AM »
After buying my 90 5.0 and driving it for the last few days, I have noticed a slight grind going into 2nd and 3rd. This is only if you really get on it though.  So I figure that the snycros are bad.  I have a buddy with a wrecked 99 mustang and he says it has a T5 in it that he will sell me for dirt cheap.  So my question is will it work in my 5.0?
Thanks

Yup, the Tremecs are bad about that.  You need to upgrade the syncros and put in a short throw shifter like a Steeda Tri-X.

Got a short throw shifter on mine already, but looks like I will just pull it and upgrade the syncros :(... good times lol
