replacing starter selenoid

Is it fairly easy to replace the starter selenoid? I have a 90' 5.0

so I have to take the starter off to do this?

This is the location of the solenoid on the starter for a 5.0 Mustang. I think it would be easier to remove the entire assembly

It's ALOTeasier if you take off the starter to do it.  Otherwise you can't really get to the necessary bolts/ screws.

Let's just make sure we are talking about the solenoid that is attached to the starter called the starter solenoid, or are we talking about the starter switch which is not attached to the starter?  If it is the solenoid attached to the starter, then that comes with a rebuilt starter, and they are inseperable unless you are real brave to make that move.  You would be silly to try to replace the solenoid that is attached to the starter without replacing the entire starter.
