WOULD A CLOGGED PCV VALVE CAUSE MY PROBLEM? ASHAMED TO SAY THE LAST TIME I CHANGED IT WAS IN 1996! THIS GT IS THE BEST CAR I EVER HAD. A 98% TROUBLE FREE RIDE. USE MOBIL1 SINCE 10,000 MI AND TUFOIL A FRICTION MODIFIER. ORIG. INJECTERS,STARTER,THROTTLEBODY. CAR WOULD USE HALF A QT. OF OIL EVERY 1200 MI

What color is the smoke?  White, blue or black?  And yes, a stuck PCV will cause it to smoke some.

I'd bet on a stuck ring from sitting up.  Flush the oil and add fresh oil with an additive such as Lucas and just run it for a few hundred miles.  If it is a stuck ring it will usually free up.  Current  gas has so much ethanol it attracts water and it can leave it in cylinders especially if the last time it was driven it didn't get warmed up real well.
