Oil Level problem!
«
on:

I have a 93 LX 5.0 Conv. I changed the oil about 800 miles ago. No visible leaks, no smoking except a slight residual smoke under full throttle. The oil light came on and i am about 1 1/2 qts low. Any ideas?

How many miles on that engine? What weight oil did you use?

if you changed the oil after it sat for a little then you checked the level and it was ok, then you check it right after turning off the engine you can be off by a quart or two (according to the dipstick) cause the oil is still thruout the engine.

Put a decent weight oil in it. Something like 10W30 or 10W40. That 5W is just too thin.

For future ref the light is a pressure warning not a level. Good luck.
