Ill start off sayin im building a 87 5.0 302 as a little street performer i would like to get about 350 hp or more but with stock heads and bottom end. I would like some input on like what intake combos cams and other mods to do please, and would like to know if this is even possibe? or what the max hp level is with stock heads and bottom end. thanks in advance -Jason-

if you want 350 throw away the stock heads and intake and get some factory heads from a 96-01 ford explorer they are the gt40 style and will support that power and you need a nice cam to go with that

i had the exact same car, i achieved 475 at the rear wheels with a stock bottom end, the stock bottom end is good for about 525 hp at the crank, and for your car the easiest way to get that power is convert to mas air and run a turbo kit at about 5-8 lbs of boost, remember that at 14.7 lbs of boost you double your all motor hp! (with the correct amount of fuel)  so if you have 225 hp at the rear wheels then 14.7 lbs of boost will make about 450hp, any mods to the all motor before boost will add up big time. a head swap that makes 50 extra hp will be good for 100hp at 14.7 lbs of boost.

the only prob with a turbo pushing that much boost on the stock bottom is blowing a connecting rod. ive seen it. for the hp youre looking for a head, cam and intake swap would be where to start. check around your area for some junk yards for those explorer heads rmodel is talking about. if you can find one a gt-40 intake or cobra intake will do the job.
