I posted in the
Your Mustangs section about a recently discovered 5.0L v8 (1978) member of my father-in-laws family.
It won't start (after being laid under wraps for 20 years).
It has new oil & fresh fuel.
When the key is turned, the engine cranks fine but there is a loud buzzing noise in the cabin, and the fuel gauge stays on zero. He can't say whether the buzzing was always there, but I guess it's related to the fuel delivery problem. At the air filter/carb, we can smell no fuel at all.
I think I read on here that there might be a relay in the cabin which is related to the fuel system, and that the fuel pump is under the back seat. Did I get those things right?
I'm not visiting him for a few days so I can't check these things out just yet. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading
