First time stroker
« on: November 26, 2008, 09:45:57 PM »
Ok, I bought an 89 fox 3 months ago, and the engine is just junk. The last owner  just threw  it together. My plan is to do a full rebuild, so I figure why not stroke it to a 347. The rotating assembly that I want to use is a forged scat with a moroso main girdle. There are a few questions I have about this setup.

Do I have to buy a special oil pan and pickup? The car has a 7qt proform on it.
Will the main girdle need to be machined?
Is there anything else I will need to do(beside machine work), or specail part I need to buy.

Any info would really help
thanks

Maddmatt,
I corrected a ton of grammar problems you had so that we could understand what you were asking.  If my corrections do not say what you intended to say, let me know,  I would think the 7 quart capacity oil pan would be more than enough for a 347 stroker since the original pan held 4, and I am not sure where you can get a larger pan.   You have adequate room in the cylinders  to accomodate the extra length rods.  Here is a good read for you so you can come up to par with the subject and decide if you really want to do this.
