Topic: Engine starts but stops immidiatly

engine will start and stop like it burns off that initial spray of fuel, and wont pick up. like the fuel pump wont keep running, or the injectors are not working or somthing, if anyone has a clue. that would be awesome, thank you. "this is a Fuel ing" stock gas , fuel pump, and injectors and fuel line.

Sounds like you have a good guess yourself-very possibly a bad fuel pump.  Have you pulled codes to see if the computer is registering anything?

If no codes, start by checking the fuse and breakers to the fuel pump and then testing the fuel pressure-not sure what it should be as I'm a carb guy, but I would guess 30+pounds would be on the minimum side.

Yeah, I agree.  Your engine is being starved of fuel.  Check the fuel pressure coming from your pump.

well. i checked and changed the fuel pump relay, that didnt do anything so i put the old one back on, now i just changed the fuel filter and adjusted timing, the car still starts up but dosnt run on its own... will fire and run for like 2 seconds every time i prime the pump. ?? idk could i still be the pump?

what i want to know is , what part if the eng tells the fuel pump and the injectors to kick on once the eng is started?

that would be the computer.

If the relay is good, you should hear the pump come on for about two seconds when you turn the key.  If there is voltage at this point and you hear nothing repeat with a test light at the relay.  If you have voltage odds are either a break in the wiring to the fuel pump or a bad fuel pump.  With all of the ethanol in today's fuel, it seems that more and more folks are having fuel pump failures

I agree.  The ethenol destroys rubber and related man-made seals.  Just bite the bullet and replace those items.
