95 Mustang Help No Power
« on: October 25, 2009, 04:06:39 PM »
I bought this 95.  Its an original v6 car, but converted before purchase.  I got the motor back together and now have no power to the fuel pump.  The CCRM was replaced with another V8 unit.  The fuses all check, thetank was dropped and the pump tested good.  What next?  Is there another fusible link somewhere?  As stated, all fuses checked ok, but there is no power to the CCRM for the pump.  Any ideas?

was the wiring to the pump good. you should check it to make sure its good. also did you have to change anything on the wiring harness due to the v6 to v8 swap. if you changed anything there id definitely check that again.

Get out your trusty multi-meter and see if you have power to the pump.  If the pump is OK, then the most likely problem is electrical to the pump.  Ground?  Naked wire touching metal?   :-\

Security system maybe? I believe that with those cars the immobilizer disables the fuel pump but the engine will still turn over

The car ran.  The guy blew it up and bought another car before fixing.  Then started parting the motor.  I bought the car with a shortblock and the rest.  I changed the the CCRM to a V-8 unit due to this issue.  The tank was dropped and the pump checked even though there was no power to that connector.  Fuses all check out and good.  The connectoins seemed to be hooked up correctly.  I'm not sure on an anti-theft system, but will check inot it tomorrow.  The car does turn over though.  There is power to the injectors as well.  No pump/fuel pressure. Frustrating... fresh motor and clutch and no start.

Got it.  Now I need to swap fuel filters.
