86 mustang gt vibration
« on: April 19, 2011, 07:15:46 PM »
i got a 86 mustang gt 5 speed some goodies here and there.
when i drive and punch the acceleration there is allot of vibration in the shifter, and a humming noise coming from the drive shaft.i lifted the car on a lift and there is allot of marks on the drive shaft so im figuring that the drive shaft is hitting the frame of the car.
could that be it let me know,
or ask me if you need any more detail.

Is your car lowered? If the car is the same way it was built, there is no reason for the driveshaft to hit the driveshaft tunnel. Otherwise, maybe you scraped it somehow on something you drove over and you may have damaged your driveshaft?
put up some pictures!

There are so many thinks it could be, need more info. People drive with there eyes about 20 feet in front of them so running over a bucket and the wire handle would make marks on the drive shaft if the bucket and handle got stuck above the drive shaft, and then flung out.  I vote for the Alien mini ship that was sitting in the middle of the road .
I was going to the airport one Sunday and in the middle of a 6 lane freeway was a truck with it's hood up and flashers going, I was about 1/2 mile back, there was a car about 1/4 mile back heading straight for the truck, I told my wife, watch this idiot, and BLAM right into the back of the truck, We were the only 3 vehicles on the road. The car and truck went into peaces and caught fire, I yelled out the window as we went by, IDIOT. I had to catch a flight.

That's ridiculous. Thanks to people like that who don't pay attention we get to have really low speed limits.

K
Whats the speed limit in BC, and wear is that? ( I looked it up, It's Canada, aeh)  A lot of Texas is 80 mph speed limit. I heard on the news that they want to raise it to 85 in those places.  Around Houston it's 70, but I tried going 70 from Houston to Conroe and had the cruse set on 70, I never passed one car for about an hour.

Wear you at?

Speed limits top out at about 60 mph here in BC. There is only one stretch of highway that goes above that.
