Topic: 85 mustang starts on its own

i have an 85 g.t. that i have had for 5 years now and am bringing it back to life. i do drive this vehicle every now and then .  its a standard tranny ...  i installed a new starter a few months ago and drove it a few times.  last time i went to start it the starter kept cranking the motor over ....jumped out of the car and disconected the battery... now i can not hook up battery without it turning over on its own....even when key is not in ignition! anyone ever hear of a problem like this? any help would be awsome!

If this was a 60-70s era Mustang, I would say that the solenoid was stuck. That would be the place to start. In addition to the solenoid, the ignition switch and the Bendix in the starter come to mind. In all things electrical, a wiring diagram is essential - no, it's manditory.
