It all depends on how deep your pockets are.  Horsepower costs a lot of money.  How much are you looking at spending?  That will determine what upgrades you can afford.

For 500 smackers, you can upgrade your gears at the rear.  A lower ratio gear  will make your back wheels spin faster, therefore making for seemingly more horsepower.  Anything from .386's to .411's will work.  It just depends on your driving habits of city or highway.  Installing the gear is quite complicated, so I suggest if you haven't done it before, that you have a competent mechanic do it.  Everything elso like even an upgraded carburetor or intake will cost you more than that.

Sounds like 373's would be perfect for your budget and your driving habits.

the seats should fit. when it comes to things like that most are 79-93 apps. it all depends though. i agree with the 3.73s. i have some and have no complaints.

What is the difference between the gt-40 and the gt-40p heads?

The GT40 and GT40P are both good heads. In stock form, the P heads are a little better. The 95-early97 Explorers had GT40 heads and the later97 up Explorers had GT40P heads. You can indentify them easily two ways - the GT40 heads have three virtical bars on the front of the head with a "GT" cast into the head just below the #1 exhaust and the P heads have four vertical bars and "GTP" cast into them in the same place. If you need to keep emissions stuff, the P heads do not come with the thermactor air holes drilled into the back of the head.

thermactor air holes your talkin about the smog pump stuff right?  And do u have to change your intake and exhaust headers to fit those heads or will everything bolt right up?

Do subframe connecters make a big difference?  Does anyone know how good the b303 cam is from ford racing?

Subframe connectors tie your entire frame together and make it solid.  It's a good addition if you wish to race, but not necessary if you don't.

the b cam is good but the alphabet cams are starting to get outdated. i have one in my car and it def sounds good and makes a diff. the subframes are a nice addition also but for the right app.
