Thermostat stuck open ??
« on: September 07, 2008, 04:03:50 PM »
I bought this 96 GT a month ago and the air would not work so I figured it was low on a charge. today I finally got around to the air and put a gauge on the line and it showed a over charge, let some off and is good now but still no air ! Tried the heater and no heat, temp guage stays on cold side, thinking maybe a bad thermostat. Any opinions ?

might just have a bad switch is your heater core hooked up? look at the rear of the motor there will be 2 hose going to the firewall see if they are hooked up or not.

the ac could also be a bad pressure switch(its located on the dryer) you can bypass it to see if the clutch will come on. if it does and the charge is good you need the switch
