does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do next to improve my hp and performance on my 98 gt. so far the only thing i have done is the x-pipe i just dont know what to do next.

well if your looking to get more horsepower with just bolt on parts you can get underdrive pulleys, cold air intake, different throttle body, headers (shorties or longtubes whichever is in your price range) longtubes give you about 20hp. a PI intake manifold which i have on my 98, they have bigger airways and ports then a non PI intake manifold. depending on what gears you have 3.73s or 4.11s are good for street and strip....personally i like the 3.73s thats what i have for my gears. ummmm a cat back exhaust with 2.5 in piping instead of 2.25. and if you wanna get into the expensive mods you can get PI heads ( they add about 40 to 50 hp) and take your compresion up to 10:1. different cams. and with forced induction you'll get ALOT more hp but depending on how many miles are on your motor you'll wanna get your bottom end redone. procharger and vortech are good and are at a decent price for what all comes with em......but hopefully this helps and let me know what you decide

so what exactly does the PI intake do and where can i get them from? and what is the difference between the 3.73 and 4.10 gears?

well see from 96 to 98 they made the GT with the 4.6 motor but it didnt have the PI heads or intake on them. now from 99 on they came with the 4.6 but with the PI heads and intake. the PI heads have bigger valves and ports in the head....the bigger the valves and ports the more air it can bring in, now if you put the PI intake manifold on a non PI motor that means more air can come in and the more air the motor gets the better....when i put mine on i could notice a difference right away....not a HUGE noticeable difference but enough i knew it was running better and with a little more get up and go. you can get them on ebay (that's where i got mine and a little cheaper) and pry on any performance site. now the gears the 3.73s are a lower gear ratio where the 4.11s are a higher gear. 3.73s let you wind out the gears alot more than the 4.11s but the 4.11s will wind up faster in the rpms and be a little more snappy but sucks for everyday driving, my friend has 4.11s in his mustang and he can only get 95 mph in 5th gear! so when your doin 55 60 mph your car will be reving alot more than if you had the 3.73s. read up on em and see what you think but if you look the 3.73s are more of the ppls choice than the other gears....but its all in what you like and your preference

cool thats very helpful but ive been looking for the intake and i can find any that fit the 98 do i have to do any sort of mod to it and do i also need the heads for it to work?
