Help with power window
« on: September 29, 2008, 01:19:45 PM »
Hello, I have a 2001 ford mustang GT and am having probelms with the driver side power window. A few months ago, it would not go up or down and was tuck in the down position. I had no option but to dismantle the unit. Come to find out, the motor was still good and there is a stopper at the bottom of the window malfunctioned; however, at this point I have removed the tracks, stoppers, etc.. I am having a very difficicult time figuring out how to piece this thing back together, including putting the motor back in its proper position. Has anyone had experience with this? Are there any diagrams or pictures to help me?

Not sure about the tracks.  But, maybe I can help with taking out and putting the motor back in.
Disconnect battery. Remove inner door panel. Unplug connector. Drill out rivets (or remove screws if previously replaced); on forward regulator mounting plate; remove 3 motor mounting rivets/screws. Push reg. mounting plate outward to remove motor.

Reattach new motor to regulator and harness temporarily. Recon. battery and confirm that it works. If so, tighten all hardware and reinstall panel
