Found a good deal on a mustang on craigslist...its a 01 with 95k on it and less then 1k on rebuilt bottom half motor. has leather, mach 460, ect. Here is our convo, My friend that knows alot about mustangs said this isn't possible. Read more please

he states that:

me:, why was the motor rebuilt?

him:the motor was replaced because I had a fuel rail problem with the first motor. Fuel got into the motor,bent a piston and threw a rod.

me:, do you have all the paperwork for the maintenance you’ve done.ect

him: give me a call

me: can't talk now.. but since it has a aluminum block and steel sleeves it would have cost more to have gotten it re-sleeved then then it would to buy a new engine. Do you have paperwork to back it up?

him:When I finally released the pressure on the block, fuel shot about 6 feet in the air. So there was alot of fuel in the motor. Maybe I'm being a little mis-leading when I say rebuilt. The bottom end was trashed. I purchased a bottom end out of a crown-Vic police package vehicle, and had my original heads sent to the machine shop. does that make more sense?

Me(with the help of my friend)Doesn’t make sence..If there was that much fuel in the motor, it would never fire, because would not be NEAR enough air to support an explosion of that much fuel. Third, for that much pressure to get into the motor, 3 things would have to happen, the fuel pressure regulator would have to go bad and pass much more fuel than normal...... The injectors would have to be completely OUT of the motor.......LOL..... Because they have a flow rating.... Which means that they will only pass so much fuel...... And last of all.. The ecu would have to be completely retarded to not sense the EXTREME rich air to fuel ratio and cut the motor off. Point blank.... Bad things happen to motors when there is to much air and not enough fuel..... Aka.. A very badly tuned supercharged or turbocharged car. NEVER has it happened with to much fuel.

Whos right me and my friend or does what the other guy is sayign make sence?

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. He's lying. That car has been ridden hard and put away wet. I'd pass on it.

My brother bought and 02 GT for my nephew for his senior year in high school. He drove it very little, so it only has 56,000 miles on it. Take a look at it in the for sale section here on this forum. It is in top notch condition and a real beauty. Give my brother a call. He'll make you a deal.
