flywheel and clutch

say i have a clutch on a 6 bolt flywheel, would i be able to use that same clutch on a 8 bolt flywheel as long as the surface area was the same?

should be able too, but the different flywheels will have a wear pattern so clutch chatter could result if you dont replace the new clutch and machine the flywheel
