Topic: rear end gears

I am looking to put new gears in the rear end of my car and i have been told to get 4.10's or 3.73's. any suggestions?

I was told that if you have an Automatic to use 410's and 5 speed to use 373's. i had a 98 GT 5 speed and it ran really great even had plenty of power to pass Traitor trailers on the highway in 5 gear with 373's. depends how you want to drive it. i also like road courses instead of the dragstrip.

If you plan to stay N/A go 4.10's. If it is in the plan to maybe ad N2O or a S/C go with 3.73's.

as has been stated the tranny you have will determine that, but generally the 4:10 ratio will give you the fastest launch over the 3:73's, but will fade after the eighth of a mile.  It depends on how you are going to use this car.  For a stop light to stop light racer, the 4:10's are superior.
