Topic: 2000 GT wont go in 5th or reverse after clutch upgrade

I brought my car to an ASC certified tech for a King Cobra clutch upgrade. Once the job was done, the car wouldn't go into first, third, or fifth. After a little clutch cable adjustment it would go into everything except fifth and reverse. Can anyone help with this? He's telling me I need a new transmission or to have mine rebuilt, but I'm wondering if this is a fairly common problem that's easily fixed or something more serious like he's making it out to be. You made adjustments at first because it wouldn't  go in 1rst 3rd or 5th, you fixed that. That means that 5th and reverse is still a problem with the clutch and cables. Most people try to make the most out lying and trying to get your money. You paid him to do that job, he has to finish it right. If your tranny was good when it got there then that's not the problem, its the mechanic not doing or not knowing what he has to do correctly.

I agree with Nate. If it worked when you put it in the shop, then it should work when it leaves the shop.

same with me my car ran fine when i took it apart. put it back together and the whole right side wont hit? like what the hell
