Topic: 1998 mustang gt 4.6

 Hi all,I got a 98 mustang gt 4.6 with a problem[or maybe problems!]
First of all she is down for power I checked the fuel pressure and its only 10 psi, REPLACED,FUEL FILTER,FUEL REGULATOR,FUEL PUMP,AND STILL NO INCREASEi ALSO BLEW OUT THE FUEL LINES,CAN ANYBODY HELP.
CAR STARTS AND IDLES FINE,PRESSURE AT IDLE IS10 PSI WITH REGULATOR AND IS 20 PSI WITH REG VACUUM DISCONNECTED.IF YOU CRIMP THE RETURN LINE THEN THE PRESSURE INCREASES BUT THIS DOES NOT HELP WITH POWER.
I SCANNED THE VEHICLE AN NO FAULT DATA PRESENT.

The fuel filter may be clogged: Replace fuel filter.

The engine may have mechanical problems: Check compression to determine engine condition.

Your catalytic converter may be clogged: Replace catalytic converter.

The exhaust system may be clogged: Replace exhaust system

Many thanks for the reply,I changed the fuel filter checked both the cat and the exhaust system for restriction[its clear].Also carried out a compression check that too drew a blank [compression good].this car was in storage for 2 years and during that time the inlet manifold got a leak and the last owner changed it,said the car was perfect before he put it in storage

Is that the same gas that was in the car before putting it in storage for 2 years?  If so, I'd drain the gas and put in a fresh tank full.  Gas turns into laquer after a year or so.  Doesn't burn too well.  Does that 98 have a MAF?  If so, clean it and make sure all the air flow connections are tight.

changed the fuel no go,il clean the air flow meter and see what happens,what you think about the fuel issue?

If the fuel pressure tests indicates a low volume, I would suspect the fuel pump is going south on you, or was a defective one when you bought it.   That engine is starving for fuel and/or air, and I would start by re-testing the fuel pump.  You might also want to do a vacuum leak test, especially around the intake manifold.  Yeah, and that dirty MAF will give you hell.  Get her clean.  And put in a new K&N air filter.
