Shelby and Scott Drake Form High-Performance Partnership
June 28th, 2007If you’ve been waiting for the perfect high performance parts to ramp up your Ford Mustang, then you’ve been waiting for Shelby Performance Parts, LLC. The new company will produce aftermarket add-ons and upgrades for 2005 Mustangs and up, as well as Shelby GT’s and Shelby GT500’s.
The partnership draws on the creative engineering talents of Shelby Automobiles and Scott Drake Enterprises, Inc. Carroll Shelby is an undisputed legend in the realm of performance vehicles and the company partners with Ford to produce the Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, and Shelby GT-H. Scott Drake dominates the field of reproduced classic Mustang parts. Put the two together and you have a Mustang marriage made in heaven.
The partnership announcement was made at the 33rd Annual Mid-America Ford Performance and Shelby Meet, June 14, 2007 in Tulsa, OK. According to Amy Boylan, Shelby Performance Parts Co-Founder, the coupling will include “aggressive suspension and engine packages.” (Some of those make up the Super Snake for the Shelby GT500.)
So what kind of performance parts are we talking about here? Enhancements to improve power under the hood, body styling, and handling on the road. Look for brake upgrades, superchargers, and components for the suspension. Add externals like hoods, side scoops, grilles, lights, and fasciae, and you’re looking at a catalog geared for power and good looks — all backed by two companies with an impeccable reputation for engineering excellence and fidelity to Mustang standards.
From the details currently available you can expect to tune your engine from 300 horsepower on the V6 (with warranty) and go as high as 725 hp on the 5.4-liter V8 without warranty. Additional offerings will include the Shelby CS6 and Shelby GT500 40th anniversary packages. A branded clothing line includes shirts, sweaters, jackets, and hats while accessories range from key rings to shot glasses.

They are in desperate need for some horses. They have had a legacy but then the way Porsche or other car manufacturers combine performance with style , the Shelby’s have been lacking in the recent past … Hope that these additives work up well for them
