Shelby GT Production starting

December 19th, 2006

The production of the new Shelby GT Mustang is set to start early January 2007. The first model from Ford and Shelby since the Shelby GT500 ill be available with 325 hp and two color choices, black with silver striping or white with silver striping.
The cars built by Ford will be sent to Shelby Automobiles, INC in Las Vegas. There they will receive modifications with parts from Ford Racing Performance catalog and Shelby’s own little touch.

Each Ford dealership can order a Shelby GT and the rest will be sent to some dealerships depending of their Mustang sales value for 2005 and 2006. The second Shelby they will receive will have to be equiped with an automatic transmission to avoid shortage of the manual ones.

I grew up in the muscle car era. My first car right out of high school was a 1966 mustang covertible, 289 three speed in bright red. It had fourteen thousand miles on it and cost a whopping $1400. ( A lot of cash when your making a $1.50 an hour) I loved that car and so did the babes!
