2006 Saleen Mustang
May 1st, 2006The Saleen S281 4.6-liter, three-valve supercharged coupe with the V8 engine gets bumped to 435 horsepower for the 2006 model year, an increase of 35 hp over the 2005 model.
The 2006 Saleen S281 3 Valve’s 4.6-liter, single-overhead-cam V8 makes 330 hp, an increase of 5 horsepower over the previous model.
The Saleen 281 with the Racecraft suspension has a base price of $42,281. The S281 supercharged coupe is priced at $51,102 and the S281 supercharged convertible starts at $55,989, the specialty manufacturer said.
The company also has introduced its 2006 “cool tops” line, including the 2006 Saleen Speedster, which is equipped with a sport bar and a tonneau. It will be available by November. The 2006 S281 coupe can be equipped with the new Saleen “scenic roof,” a moonroof that extends from the windshield to the back window. That will be in production by January, the company said.

Saleen cars are sweet tho. I mean look at it id love to take a ride in that thing. Mustngs are getttin sexier and sexier every year. I cant wait to see them in 2010. They are gona be some sweet ass cars.!

Just recently bought a ‘94 white gt convertible. I get so much respect on the road that it is not funny. Everyone from my little first grade boys to the old guys give me a wave. Never knew a car would be so much fun!! My husband and son and daughter are hooked as well. Won’t get it till I die!!!!

omg…i love mustangs…i even have a tatoo of the mustang(the horse) on my ancle…there the greatest cars…they represent freedom. when ur in one you feel as if your not even in a car, more like in a fantasy. in my personal opinion mustangs are the greatest cars ever invented by man kind. hopefully one day soon I will have the privlage in driving one of these cars proudly.

Ford’s prototype of the retro Mustang had a glass roof, yet the productionmodel isn’t available with the desired option.
I’m glad Saleen fills the niche. Dreamcar, most sexy thing on wheels nowadays. Being a 60’s retro it can brings back memories I’ve never had.
Although Saleen earns credit for this fine job, I’d prefer the original Mustang badges.
